    The Journey

    TICKET TO MALAYSIA

Ticket to Asia Season 2 continues, and this time Saigon Café hands you a boarding pass to Malaysia — opening on the eve of Hari Merdeka, Malaysia's National Day.

From 27 August to 13 September 2026, two guest chefs from two cities and two hotels cook side by side: the slow-simmered Nyonya kitchen of Penang, and the sambal-bright Malay and mamak cooking of Kuala Lumpur. One dinner, one country, eighteen nights.

    MEET THE GUEST CHEFS

    THE TWO TASTES OF MALAYSIA

    Chef Chang Seng Cheong

    CHEF CHANG SENG CHEONG

    Penang Marriott Hotel

Thoughtful, precise and contemporary, Chef Cheong looks to Nyonya Peranakan traditions not simply to preserve them, but to give them a new voice. In his hands, generations of Chinese–Malay heritage meet the perspective of a younger chef — refined, curious and quietly creative.

    Chef Din

    CHEF KAMARUDIN BIN DALI

Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre

With more than three decades behind the stove, Chef Din cooks with confidence born from experience. His Mamak-inspired flavours are bold, generous and deeply comforting — food with character, made to be shared, and rooted proudly in the taste of Malaysia.
